Cake Toppers Should Suit the Occasion

Cake topper is a model that sits on the top of the cake such as a wedding-cake, birthday-cake etc. They are made up of various materials but mainly plastic. In a wedding cake the traditional topper is the model of small bride and groom. In a birthday-cake the angels or sleeping babies are used as toppers.

During the special occasions like Christmas, New Year etc. we use cakes with different types of toppers. Models of Santa Claus, Christmas tree, stars are used on it. In a New Year cake there are artificial flowers used as toppers. There is no records exist for the first time some one put a model on the top of the cake.

Designs of the pastry should reflect the individual's style and preferably be synchronized with the occasion. You can use cream and white icings in traditional designs, or non-traditional designs laced with lively artistry on a wedding cake.

Another important aspect is the flavor of the cake. Nowadays the bakers have the skills to create the icings look like the lace of the wedding dress. In Bermuda there is a wonderful tradition based on the wedding cake. There in the wedding cake have a little green tree on the top. After the wedding the newly wedded couple plants the same tree in the garden and watches it grow with time.

There are other options to use the toppings by adding edible fruits, nuts, chocolates, cheese, butter icing etc.
We can also use edible roses, lavender as designs.

Wedding cakes are the reflection of the wedding style. The shapes, flavor and colors are never ending. If you have good ideas about the designing of cakes you can bake by yourself. The cake should suit the occasion whether it is wedding or birthday.
